With ten gallon swagger and talent to match, Toby Keith was a one-man Country Music hit machine. As both a writer and performer, he stormed the charts, logging more than sixty hit singles and 20 #1 hits over the course of three decades. His songwriting inspirations ranged from populist politics to Christian faith and a fondness for adult beverages, but his way with words and knack for infectious melodies pulled it all together and his gentle baritone smoothed down all the rough edges. After a 2-year fight with stomach cancer, Toby Keith left us too soon at age 62. But you can still hear his voice echoing in the songs of the generations of country artists he inspired.
